Kelsey looked down, trying to focus on the book on her lap. The words blurred, her gaze drawn to Tyler’s barrelled thigh, clad in jeans that moulded to his muscles like a second skin. A thigh that was touching hers, the heat almost too much to bear.

Tyler nudged his knee closer. “Look at me.”

She jerked, refusing to comply.

He did it again.

She licked her lips. “No.”

“Why not?”

“Because if I look at you, I know what will happen.”

“So do I.” The burr in his voice only served to fuel the fire of her arousal.

She was trying so hard to be a good she-wolf now, one who—as she’d found out with the sex-obsessed Fae—wasn’t the sort of wolf who could partake in a casual romp. She’d known Tyler less than twenty-four hours, but…

“Look at me, Kel,” he repeated, picking up the book and closing it, his warm fingers deliberately stroking her skin.

That did it. Morals out the window. She couldn’t resist a moment longer. Slowly, she turned her head towards him.

His intense gaze smouldered with unmistakable desire, yet compassion glinted in their depths too.

He placed the book on the cushion beside him. “I meant what I said earlier. I want this thing between us to be the start of something special.”

“I do too, Tyler.” She’d always shied away from letting anyone get too close, but with Tyler it was different. Everything was different when she was with him.

She looped her arms around his shoulders, threaded her fingers through the soft curls at the nape of his neck and urged him closer.

In a swift move, he leapt on top of her, the weight of his hot bod forcing her backwards until she fell onto the reading nook’s squishy cushions.

She yelped as something dug into her left bum cheek. “Ouch! Something’s poking into me.”

He chuckled. “Not yet, but it will be.” Grinding his hips, he made sure she felt his rock-hard arousal.

Kelsey shifted her position slightly, reached behind her and removed her specs with a groan. “My glasses. I hope they’re not broken—” He stopped her with another kiss. To hell with broken glasses—they were the last thing on her mind.

Tyler trailed heavenly kisses along her throat, then between her breasts, fumbling for a second with the buttons on her blouse before pushing the fabric aside.

“Don’t you ever wear a bra?” he murmured.

She giggled. “Not often, no. Why, are you complaining?”

“Hell, no! But now I want to know if there are other items of underwear you don’t wear.”

“Why don’t you find out?” she teased, parting her legs a fraction.

He slipped his hand under her skirt and along her thigh, grunting when he touched her knickers. “Hmm, silk and lace by the feel of them. Is it possible to be aroused and disappointed at the same time?”

She giggled again. “Disappointed? I can remedy that.” Quick as a flash, she wiggled out of her knickers and flung them across the book shop, catapult style. They hit a pile of books and fell to the floor.

Tyler gasped, amusement and lust gleaming in his eyes. “You are a very naughty wolf.”

“Take off your clothes and I’ll show you exactly how naughty I can be.”
